Tarheel Conservative: View of 2008 Election Issues

Bring Back The Love For The True American Way of Life:

As I watched the news over that past two weeks, and as I have resisted the urge to write. The urge to comment on things that I see in the different media outlets. Several things have become more evident about this current election year. There is a lot of talk about "the issues" that are important to you, and the rest of the American public. However, the American public seems to be divided in a way that is nothing but destructive to our way of life. I know that most Americans love their country, believe in the greatness that is America, support our military, have great respect for our flag and our founding fathers. Yet these ordinary people are looked down upon and called out dated. This happens because the liberals in this country lust after the European way of life. These people feel like America is the "evil" bully on the world block, and that the founding fathers of this great nation were out of touch, racist bigots. However these opinions and teaching have become more popular in levels of higher education. These mindless teachings saturate the media, and the entertainment industry. In the past few years alone we have seen how these revisionist teachings have entered into everything from the American Bar Association to churches (enter in Rev. Wright).

What This Country Needs:

We need leaders that can restore to Americans' an understanding of the Constitution, and our nations history. We need leaders that will educate citizens about the role religion, and moral values have played in this nations history. Leaders that will inform citizens on why those same morals and values are completely applicable in our country today. We need leaders that will bring back the limited government that our founding fathers created. Leaders are needed to promote the importance of teaching young Americans real U.S. History, and the importance of the United States Constitution. These are teachings that have been left out of the school systems for to long, and if they have been taught they have been taught in a revisionist manner.

A National Language:

We need politicians that will end the federal requirements for bilingualism: in schools, voting boards, and other government functions. Now granted people should be free to speak any language they like in their personal lives, but English should be declared the national language. We should be a nation of one people not an assortment of competing hyphenated-Americans. The common language helps unify citizens as a nation, and also provides immigrants today with a connection to traditions of their new adopted home.

This is just the first of a few issues that I feel will be important issues in this years election. Topics that I think will be in the spotlight as we head into November.

The "Liberal" Preamble

We the People of the United States progressive-minded citizens of the North American Province of the United Nations, in Order to form a more perfect Union obtain a far groovier chakra, establish Social Justice, get righteous with Mother Earth, insure domestic Tranquility partnerships of any nature, provide for the common defence promotion of peace, free love and a total lack of responsibility, promote the general creation of the Welfare State, and secure the Blessings of Liberty some boss doobage (weed) to for ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America North American Province of the United Nations.

I guess this is why Barack Obama says that the Constitution is a "living breathing organism" that can be changed.

June 6, 1944

Today was the 64th anniversary of D-Day. On this day 64 years ago 150,000 Americans stormed the beaches of Normandy. The number of deaths in one day surpassed the total of the Iraq Wars 5 year total. 2500 G.I.'s and 2600 paratroopers were injured or killed in the line of duty. 5000 plus losses in one day. That total was Americans alone. Yet on D-day our mission was accomplished. The mission of D-day was to land on the beaches of Normandy, and that was setting up the taking back of France. I hope that we all can recognize the courage, and sacrifice that was made on the beaches of Normandy that day.

However on the home front there were no politicians using the sacrifices of that day for their political advantage. There was nothing like what we see today with the war in Iraq. There were no senators or congressmen/women declaring the war hopeless or a failure. You see they just didn't do things like that, because they didn't want to demoralize the troops.
They weren't trying to undercut the President at the time, F.D. Roosevelt. They stayed true to the mission, and lets pray that our troops are allowed to finish their mission. War is ugly and violent. In war things get broken, blown up, people get hurt, people get killed, and it just might be that some of us are too tender to deal with that. There are still plenty of these great patriots around, and they are known as the "Greatest Generation" for a reason. If we do anything, lets look back on the history of these brave men, and learn what courage, honor, and patriotism truly mean.

Hopefully you will be able to read this message from Gen. Eisenhower. You can see the focus of these brave men.

Presidential Qualities or Hipness?

I've been hearing a lot about the fist bump exchanged between Mr. and Mrs. Barry Obama the other night. Barry said that even though things get tough and stressful out on the campaign trail that he and the wifey still find time to do silly things. That is understandable and respectful that you would want to keep some normality to your life. However as they tend to do, and do so well, the talking heads in the drive by media have analyzed and over analyzed this gesture. Now again this is strictly my opinion, but I keep hearing repetition in the news cycle that this was a hip gesture. A hipness that Barry possesses that no other candidate, nay president has ever possessed. Now I know we have all heard about Barry's energy and charisma. We have heard the talk of his campaign stops being like "Rock Concerts", and he's like a "Rock Star".

Now I can understand where this might be appealing to the MTV Rock the Vote crowd. However the MTV crowd doesn't turn out consistently to vote. Now having said that when they talk about Barry's ,hipness or rock star charisma, who do you think they are trying to appeal to? Not only that but since when is being "hip" a great presidential quality? When we look back through history at situations that this country has faced and overcome; where are the situations that would have been handled better had the president at the time just been more "hip".

I know qualities like: Moral courage, great communication skills, great judgment, general maturity, trustworthiness, and reliability are foreign to Barry's friends in the drive by media. I would dare say that the majority of the list escapes Barry himself but he is Hip. I mean being hip will certainly help this country out in times like: war, national disasters, financial hardships, appointing Supreme Court Judges, and dealing with evil dictators that would like to do nothing more than kill anything American.

I know if Barry is the next Prez (its hip, work with me) he can call his dawgs: Kim Jung-Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, and Castro's little bro over to the White House for a dance off to decide who gets to help bring us down as a nation first. Then once its decided they can all bounce, and give each other fist pounds on the way out the white house door.

So as far as hipness goes, and its importance to being the next leader of the free world, does it really matter?

Barry Obama Now the Nominee.

Obama has done it, and Clinton seems to be willing to be VP. As unlikely as I think that is, and as much as that will be discussed over the coming days I would like to focus on "The Obama." That's right "The Obama" I figure that's fitting since he is the "savior" of the Democrat party. Also fitting because he was endorsed by "The Oprah." Although she seems to have disappeared over the past few weeks I am sure that she will be heading back out on the campaign trail for him soon. Now whether or not this is good for him remains to be seen. But I am sure there will be more open mouth insert foot moments for "The Obama" in the months leading up to the election.

That's right the candidate known as "The Magic Negro" (courtesy of the L.A. Times), "The Obama", or Barak "Barry" Obama (courtesy of The Limbaugh Letter) is no stranger to saying stupid stuff. Let me just show you a couple examples of these little "uh what had happened, uh what it was was" moments. Some would call a few of these...lies, but that's not possible when your the Democratic Party Messiah. You decide.

* On the anniversary of the March 1965 "Bloody Sunday" in Selma, Alabama, Obama speaking at a church said his parents got together "because of what happened in Selma." Well maybe the Obama family has mastered time travel as well. Especially since they were together before he was born, and Barry was born in 1961.

* Obama told Larry King on CNN... when asked about the anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton YouTube ad, a doctored version of a spot created for Apple computers....."We don't have the technical capacity to create something like that." Really so the same campaign staff that designed movie quality commercials, couldn't make a edited version of an already existing commercial. I mean know teenagers across the country do it everyday, but apparently that is to challenging for "The Obama" campaign staff. You might find it interesting that eventually it was discovered that it was a Obama campaign person that came forward as the creator. And surprise surprise Barry had no idea, but dismissed him immediately.

* This one is priceless, and keep in mind Barry was tired. May, 2007 Barry drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 people had died. The actual death toll was 11. He said "In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. 10,000 people died an entire town was destroyed." Barry said this to a group of 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio at a campaign stop. Realizing his lie, I mean gaffe, Barry said afterwards (mind you not while any of the 500 people were around) "There are going to be times when I get tired, There are going to be times when I get weary. There are going to be times when I make mistakes." Barry spokesman Bill Burton said that Sen. Barry meant to say "at least 11" instead of 10,000.

Well maybe "The Obama" just has problems with numbers. Like this one from just a month ago.

* In Oregon, Barry is talking about the long journey of the campaign trail. "It's wonderful to be back in Oregon, and over the last 15 months we have covered every corner of the United States. I've been in I think 57 states with 1 left to go. Alaska and Hawaii I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it." Are you kidding me?? I know this is tough, and I understand that you are under a lot of scrutiny. But if this was George W. Bush we would not hear the end of it. However, you might find this funny, there are 57 Islamic states. Hmmm.

* "The Obama" also has a 6th sense, and displayed it this past Memorial Day. In a speech on Memorial Day he said "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes, and I see many of them in the audience here today. Our sense of patriotism is particularly strong." This guy is seeing dead people, and people are worried that McCain might develop Alzheimer's.

It must be nice for a presidential candidate to be able to say whatever he wants, and be shielded by the media. I am glad to know that they give the same support to all the candidates and the current President. Err wait!?!
