People of Interest!

We have all heard quite a bit about Obama and his known associations with some of the most off- color people. Some of these people are convicted criminals, some admitted terrorists, and some are just racist hatemongers. These are not people you want living next door, and you certainly would not want as your friends. Unless your Barack Obama!

William Ayers:
  • Leader of the 60's and 70's domestic terrorist group Weathermen Underground.
  • Summed up the theology of the Weathermen Group as "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars, and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents."
  • Participated in the bombings of: NYC Police Headquarters, the Capital building in 71, the Pentagon in 72.
  • Currently a professor of eduction at the University of Illinois.
William Ayers started the domestic terror group Weathermen Underground, and patterned the group after the communist Red Army. When interviewed in 2001 he talked about his life as a radical terrorist in the 60's and 70's, and his ever growing hatred for the country. Ayers said, "What a country, it makes me want to puke. I don't regret setting bombs, I feel we did not do enough." Ayers and the Weathermen group were responsible for 30 bombings of U.S. defense and security infrastructures. William Ayers lost his first Weathermen girlfriend when she was killed constructing a bomb that was intended to detonate at a dance for the Army at Fort Dix, NJ. Ayers and his current wife Bernadine Dorhn spent the 70's running from the FBI. They turned themselves over to the FBI in 1980. A few months later charges were dropped, and they were released due to a "improper surveillance" technicality. Ayers had this to say at his release, "Guilty as sin, free as a bird, America is a great country." When asked if he would ever use bombs against the U.S. in the future his response was "I can't imagine entirely dismissing the possibility."

In the mid 90's, Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorhn, hosted a party to introduce their friends to a young politician by the name of Barack Obama that was running for the Illinois Senate.

Obama later went on to serve as a chairman for a radical educational board called the CAC (Chicago Annenberg Challenge). A board that Ayers used to push his radical thoughts, and opinions of "teaching against the oppressions of this country." It was through the CAC that Ayers, and Obama, contributed money to ACORN (Associations of Community Organizations for Reform Now). This was done on behalf of the Obama presidential campaign, and ACORN was to register voters for the upcoming election. ACORN which has recently committed several acts of voter registration fraud.

During Obama's time as the chairman for the CAC over $600,000 was donated through the CAC to other orginizations founded by Ayers. These foundations are run by Mike Klonsky a former top communist activist, and the former leader of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party.

Seems like great company for a possible president to be keeping, and bit of a trend with company that "great one" keeps. This man does not care about this country, and its great history. Barack Obama cares about power, and being the man that holds the power. God forbid he should obtain that power, because he will ruin this great nation that we love.

Stop The Bleeding!

My normal optimistic attitude is not gone. I am not completely worried, but as a coach it's getting close to that point where you have to call a timeout. You have to bring the guys over calm them down, and get them focused back on the task at hand. It's the start of the fourth quarter, and your opponent is gaining momentum. You brought in the star player, and then you don't get em the ball. That seems to be whats going on with McCain and Palin. We were behind in the polls, and he pulls Palin off the bench to change the game. Which is what she did, and she produced a comeback. She provided a lead, and sparked excitement for the whole team. Now, do we go to the hot hand? Do we continue to follow her lead? NO. Instead we send her west, we hide her at times, and we don't allow her to get in front of the camera nearly enough. I don't understand this strategy at all. Instead of setting the pit bull loose on the media who she has handled wonderfully, and answered all their questions perfectly, we hide her away.

The second thing that's, driving me absolutely crazy, is the free pass McCain is giving the democrats. He refuses to give blame where blame is more than due. McCain should be calling out every one of the liberal democrats that caused this financial mess. Hold their feet to the fire, and expose them for what they are, FRAUDS!

I understand wanting to fix the problem at hand. However, you have a gift laid in your lap, and you refuse to open it. All the lies, and scandals that are sewn up in this fannie and freddie mess are out in the open. The deceit of these GSE's are his for the exposing.

So with his refusal to turn Palin loose, and refusing to offer the heads of responsible parties, to their angry constituency. This combination has provided a drop in the polls, and in states where he's ahead, the lead shrinks. He refuses with Obama to listen to the people that don't want this bill. He refuses to expose these former employees of Fannie, and Freddie. These people should be prosecuted, and embarrassed. They should be treated like a republican that has done something wrong. They should be sent to prison like a republican certainly would have been. Paraded in front of the public on the evening news, and embarrassed.

"McCain the Maverick" needs to wake up before this election passes him by, and leaves him laying along side the road with former republican candidates that refused to fight. (dole and papa bush part deux) Becoming a punching bag is not admirable. You are a fighter. People love and respect you for being a fighter. They want you to win. So give the people what they want.

Another Day No Bail Out!

"High taxes and excess spending growth created our present economic mess; more of the same will not cure the hardship, anxiety, and discouragement it has imposed on the American people. Let us cut through the fog for a moment. The answer to a government that's too big is to stop feeding its growth." Ronald Reagan.

These are wise words. These words have not been uttered before the house or senate members during the past two weeks. Instead we have heard about $700 billion bailouts, and inserting more regulators to regulate the private sector. The talk that greed in the private sector is what caused this mess is absolutely outrageous. If the greed is found anywhere it is on Capital Hill. That is where the likes of Chris Dodd, Barnie Franks, and Bill Clinton started this mess in 1998. (Not to mention they got rich doing so.) Clinton wanted to put everybody in a house, because everyone no matter your credit score, employment, or financial history deserves to own a home.

We all see what happens when the thought of working for something, and earning it yourself is replaced. Replaced with the idea that "it's my right", and "I deserve it". So here we are in a situation brought on by corruption in government agencies. (surprise, surprise) We have discovered forged financial documents, failed housing policies, and corrupt politicians. Now, who is expected to fix this? The American tax payer. The people that work hard to earn what they have, and even harder to keep it.

So instead of personal accountability, and responsibility for your on own debt. The government wants the American taxpayer to pay the bill. Government is like that guy that takes you out to the fancy restaurant, orders the most expensive thing, and encourages you to do the same. Then the bill comes, and oops, I forgot my wallet. It might happen once, but the second time he's washing dishes. Which is what we need to do as taxpayers. We should write, phone, e-mail, and fax our representatives. Tell them that this is wrong, and we are not going to pay for it.

It's time to stop feeding this giant government every time it gets hungry for more. Ronald Reagan's practices were right then, and they are still right today. If put into practice again they will produce the same economic boom that we saw during the Reagan era. I keep hearing that this is a bi-partisan mess, but facts say something else. Take a look yourself.

Seventh Anniversary of 9/11.

(Picture of a memorial at Camp Liberty in Baghdad. The image of the Pentagon on the left, and the WTC on the right.)

They remember what they are fighting for 7 years later. They remember, like many of us, the Al Qaeda terrorist that hijacked 4 planes. They remembered, and paid their respects to the almost 3,000 Americans that had their lives taken on that day.

At 8:46 a.m. (the time the first plane slammed into the WTC) President Bush will hold a moment of silence on the south lawn of the White House. Let us all remember those lost loved ones that day. Let's pray for wisdom for Pres. Bush, let's pray for continued safety for this country, and for our soldiers that fight to preserve our freedom and safety as Americans.

High Gas Prices!

Back in May Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman rejected a call by Congress to release oil from the government's emergency stockpile. The congress gave the reason for this request as "oil is needed to bring down the current high fuel prices." Mr. Bodman rejected the request because "emergency stockpile oil is needed to respond to future supply emergencies, and not to influence prices." Now, as usual, the democrat controlled congress contradicts itself. In May Pres. Bush ask the Saudis to increase their oil production by 9.7 million barrels a day. The congress replied to that by saying that wouldn't help bring down the cost of oil. So they asked for 400 million barrels to be released into the economy, and said that it would reduce prices for Americans.

Let me just give you an idea of how long 400 million barrels would last. There are 43.5 gallons in a barrel of crude oil. Now then, 19.5 gallons of that end up as gasoline, 9 gallons of fuel oil, 4 gallons of jet fuel, and 11 gallons go to other products. So only 19.5 gallons out of a barrel end up as gas for your vehicle. Now if we do the math that 400 million barrels x 19.5 gallons = 7.8 billion gallons. However, we the "capitalistic pigs" of the Unites States use 386 million gallons of gas a day. So the amount of fuel that the democrat congress wants released would last us roughly 19.5 days.

My point is simply that neither releasing oil from the emergency stockpile, nor getting the Saudis to increase capacity is the answer. I think Pres. Bush has come to see this as well, by lifting the ban on drilling earlier this week. Our best way of getting back to "affordable" fuel cost is to drill in and around the good ol U.S.A. That means 100% energy independence from foreign oil. By lifting the ban, and by more Americans demanding we drill for our own oil, the ball has been placed in the democrat congress's court. What they need to do is release the ridiculous requirements that the EPA has on the oil companies. Secondly, they need to abolish the restrictions on oil exploration lands. Last, but not least, they need to reduce the federal gas tax (or do away with it, but lets not hold our breath.) These things will go alot further to helping relieve the strain on hard working Americans. If they want so badly to help the Americans, that are being "turned upside down, and having money shaken from their pockets", then why not commit to real methods of help. Yet another prime example of why we need smaller government instead of the Goliath it has grown into.

Obama: "I must earn troops trust."

A few days ago Obama had a reversal on the war in Iraq. He said that he would call together his joint chiefs of staff, and give them instructions to end the war now. Now that sounds firm, and I'm sure the anti-war left went nuts. However, for those that don't know the joint chiefs of staff have nothing to do with whether or not we stay or pull out. They don't have anything to do with the organizational charts for military operations in Iraq. They are completely separate from their respective services. (Each branch has a chief: Army chief, Navy chief, etc.) They are in place to advise the president, but are not at all part of the commander structure. They are not even allowed to participate in command structure, and this is to ensure that they stay independent and neutral. Yet the man that wants to be your next president does not know this himself. Of course he is flopping around out there as usual with his "well what had happened" or "what I meant was", and as usual the media gives him a pass. However the Obama train wreck does not stop with that comment.

Obama in his attempts to try and land some favor with military minded voters said "I have not served in uniform, I am somebody who strongly believes that I have to earn the trust of the men and women in uniform. I don't presume that from the day I'm sworn in,
(pretty confident isn't he) every single serviceman or woman suddenly says 'This guy knows what he's doing.' I have to display those qualities of leadership in listening, in standing up for our military on some of the critical issues. I have to deliver on my promises so that relationships and trust are built. So that the people of the armed services feel I care, and not just like I'm looking to score some cheap political points."

Now all that would be believable if he displayed any interest whatsoever leading up to this point, but he hasn't at all. In fact Obama has spent time doing nothing but talking about pulling out/ending the war. He talks as if there is no progress. Obama has done nothing but spew lies, or support efforts to undermine all the progress that our military has made. However the positive news that has come out of Iraq as of late has caused Obama to flop around like a fish on dry land. The evidence of this is clear and simple. In one week he talked about telling his joint chiefs how to end the war immediately, and then tells the Military Times that he wants to earn and build this relationship with the military. So somebody please explain this to me. How does one earn trust or truly support someone in this manner?

2008 Election Issues: Winning the War

"The terrorists who struck America that September morning intend to strike us again. We know this because the enemy has told us so." President Bush in a speech in November at the Heritage Foundation.

The terrorist have stated their goals. They have told the world that they intend to build a totalitarian Islamic empire that would encompass all former and current Muslim lands. This would include countries from: Europe, North Africa, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Now on the path to these goals the terrorist will not compromise, negotiate, and are not open to "dialogue" with infidels. (i.e. democrat party definition of dialogue- the the U.S. is evil, and that we understand why you hate us. We will also do whatever it takes to make you like us, like down sizing our military, or allowing you to destroy Israel and the rest of the free "christian" world.) Now having said that what do our democrat leaders, and especially Obama want to do? They want to sit down, and create a dialogue with these people. In fact Obama wants to sit down and talk with all terrorist dictators/leaders.

Now it would seem that most of us have a strong understanding of this concept. We understand that when bad guys with guns say that they want to hurt you, and have done so, they mean what they say, and follow through with more attacks. This brings me to my point about the war in Iraq.

The war in Iraq is the primary front in the war against al-Qaeda terrorist network, and Islamic radicalism. The U.S. led surge has been nothing BUT A SUCCESS. Iraq with a new born democracy is no longer on the path to "civil war". Ballot boxes, and the rule of law have taken the place of terrorist leadership, and intimidation as the societal norm. The U.S. and its allies must make a long term commitment to DEFEATING the al-Qaeda threat in Iraq. However the liberals in Washington continue to talk about a large troop withdrawal at the end of the Bush Administration. This mindless chatter does nothing but send an emboldening message to our enemies. If we pull out we will see nothing, but mass murder, chaos, and destruction in Iraq. (search for footage of the U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam, and imagine it about 10 times worse.)

Afghanistan also is a crucial front in the global war on terror. Since the U.S. military victory in 2001, we have been unable to transform the political situation. We must make sure that Afghanistan does not again become a safe haven for Islamic terrorist. We cannot do this if we remove the troops that we have there now. We must commit to a long term military, economic, and political campaign in Afghanistan like we have in Iraq. This is important because we must show the Afghans that a democratic government will serve them better than a radical Islamic regime.

In the big picture Iraq and Afghanistan are a microcosm of a much larger war the U.S. is waging against Islamic terrorism and extremism. These battles that are being fought in Iraq and Afghanistan have direct affects on U.S. national security, and the security of our allies. You can bet that if we don't take the fight to our enemies that they most certainly will bring the fight to us, again.

God Bless America

Ignore the advertising on the sides, but take minute to read this, and listen to this description of the Pledge of Allegiance. God Bless America, and Happy Independence Day.

On January 14, 1969, Red Skelton touched the hearts of millions of Americans with his "Pledge Of Allegiance", in which he explained the meaning of each and every word. Red Skelton's recitation of the "Pledge of Allegiance" was twice read into the Congressional Record of the United States and received numerous awards.

RED SKELTON: "I remember this one teacher. To me, he was the greatest teacher, a real sage of my time. He had such wisdom. We were all reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance and he walked over. Mr. Lasswell was his name... He said": "I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge Of Allegiance all semester and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word:

I

Me; an individual; a committee of one.

Pledge

Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.

Allegiance

My love and my devotion.

To the Flag

Red Skelton - America's favorite clown, and patriot as well, who recited the Pledge of Allegiance on national TV

Our standard; Old Glory ; a symbol of Freedom; wherever she waves there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts, Freedom is everybody's job.

of the United

That means that we have all come together.

States

Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that is love for country.

And to the Republic

Republic -- a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.

For which it stands

One Nation

One Nation -- meaning, so blessed by God.

Indivisible

Incapable of being divided.

With Liberty

Which is Freedom; the right of power to live one's own life, without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.

And Justice

The principle, or quality, of dealing fairly with others.

For All

For All -- which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine. And now, boys and girls, let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: Under God. Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer, and that would be eliminated from schools, too?"

Red Skelton's recitation of the pledge of allegiance is available on DVD as part of the Red Skelton Christmas DVD.

Editor's note: sadly, Red Skelton was prescient - the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (the most overturned court in the United States of America) has done exactly that.

Tarheel Conservative: View of 2008 Election Issues

Bring Back The Love For The True American Way of Life:

As I watched the news over that past two weeks, and as I have resisted the urge to write. The urge to comment on things that I see in the different media outlets. Several things have become more evident about this current election year. There is a lot of talk about "the issues" that are important to you, and the rest of the American public. However, the American public seems to be divided in a way that is nothing but destructive to our way of life. I know that most Americans love their country, believe in the greatness that is America, support our military, have great respect for our flag and our founding fathers. Yet these ordinary people are looked down upon and called out dated. This happens because the liberals in this country lust after the European way of life. These people feel like America is the "evil" bully on the world block, and that the founding fathers of this great nation were out of touch, racist bigots. However these opinions and teaching have become more popular in levels of higher education. These mindless teachings saturate the media, and the entertainment industry. In the past few years alone we have seen how these revisionist teachings have entered into everything from the American Bar Association to churches (enter in Rev. Wright).

What This Country Needs:

We need leaders that can restore to Americans' an understanding of the Constitution, and our nations history. We need leaders that will educate citizens about the role religion, and moral values have played in this nations history. Leaders that will inform citizens on why those same morals and values are completely applicable in our country today. We need leaders that will bring back the limited government that our founding fathers created. Leaders are needed to promote the importance of teaching young Americans real U.S. History, and the importance of the United States Constitution. These are teachings that have been left out of the school systems for to long, and if they have been taught they have been taught in a revisionist manner.

A National Language:

We need politicians that will end the federal requirements for bilingualism: in schools, voting boards, and other government functions. Now granted people should be free to speak any language they like in their personal lives, but English should be declared the national language. We should be a nation of one people not an assortment of competing hyphenated-Americans. The common language helps unify citizens as a nation, and also provides immigrants today with a connection to traditions of their new adopted home.

This is just the first of a few issues that I feel will be important issues in this years election. Topics that I think will be in the spotlight as we head into November.

I guess this is why Barack Obama says that the Constitution is a "living breathing organism" that can be changed.

June 6, 1944

Today was the 64th anniversary of D-Day. On this day 64 years ago 150,000 Americans stormed the beaches of Normandy. The number of deaths in one day surpassed the total of the Iraq Wars 5 year total. 2500 G.I.'s and 2600 paratroopers were injured or killed in the line of duty. 5000 plus losses in one day. That total was Americans alone. Yet on D-day our mission was accomplished. The mission of D-day was to land on the beaches of Normandy, and that was setting up the taking back of France. I hope that we all can recognize the courage, and sacrifice that was made on the beaches of Normandy that day.

However on the home front there were no politicians using the sacrifices of that day for their political advantage. There was nothing like what we see today with the war in Iraq. There were no senators or congressmen/women declaring the war hopeless or a failure. You see they just didn't do things like that, because they didn't want to demoralize the troops.
They weren't trying to undercut the President at the time, F.D. Roosevelt. They stayed true to the mission, and lets pray that our troops are allowed to finish their mission. War is ugly and violent. In war things get broken, blown up, people get hurt, people get killed, and it just might be that some of us are too tender to deal with that. There are still plenty of these great patriots around, and they are known as the "Greatest Generation" for a reason. If we do anything, lets look back on the history of these brave men, and learn what courage, honor, and patriotism truly mean.

Hopefully you will be able to read this message from Gen. Eisenhower. You can see the focus of these brave men.

Presidential Qualities or Hipness?

I've been hearing a lot about the fist bump exchanged between Mr. and Mrs. Barry Obama the other night. Barry said that even though things get tough and stressful out on the campaign trail that he and the wifey still find time to do silly things. That is understandable and respectful that you would want to keep some normality to your life. However as they tend to do, and do so well, the talking heads in the drive by media have analyzed and over analyzed this gesture. Now again this is strictly my opinion, but I keep hearing repetition in the news cycle that this was a hip gesture. A hipness that Barry possesses that no other candidate, nay president has ever possessed. Now I know we have all heard about Barry's energy and charisma. We have heard the talk of his campaign stops being like "Rock Concerts", and he's like a "Rock Star".

Now I can understand where this might be appealing to the MTV Rock the Vote crowd. However the MTV crowd doesn't turn out consistently to vote. Now having said that when they talk about Barry's ,hipness or rock star charisma, who do you think they are trying to appeal to? Not only that but since when is being "hip" a great presidential quality? When we look back through history at situations that this country has faced and overcome; where are the situations that would have been handled better had the president at the time just been more "hip".

I know qualities like: Moral courage, great communication skills, great judgment, general maturity, trustworthiness, and reliability are foreign to Barry's friends in the drive by media. I would dare say that the majority of the list escapes Barry himself but he is Hip. I mean being hip will certainly help this country out in times like: war, national disasters, financial hardships, appointing Supreme Court Judges, and dealing with evil dictators that would like to do nothing more than kill anything American.

I know if Barry is the next Prez (its hip, work with me) he can call his dawgs: Kim Jung-Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, and Castro's little bro over to the White House for a dance off to decide who gets to help bring us down as a nation first. Then once its decided they can all bounce, and give each other fist pounds on the way out the white house door.

So as far as hipness goes, and its importance to being the next leader of the free world, does it really matter?

Barry Obama Now the Nominee.

Obama has done it, and Clinton seems to be willing to be VP. As unlikely as I think that is, and as much as that will be discussed over the coming days I would like to focus on "The Obama." That's right "The Obama" I figure that's fitting since he is the "savior" of the Democrat party. Also fitting because he was endorsed by "The Oprah." Although she seems to have disappeared over the past few weeks I am sure that she will be heading back out on the campaign trail for him soon. Now whether or not this is good for him remains to be seen. But I am sure there will be more open mouth insert foot moments for "The Obama" in the months leading up to the election.

That's right the candidate known as "The Magic Negro" (courtesy of the L.A. Times), "The Obama", or Barak "Barry" Obama (courtesy of The Limbaugh Letter) is no stranger to saying stupid stuff. Let me just show you a couple examples of these little "uh what had happened, uh what it was was" moments. Some would call a few of these...lies, but that's not possible when your the Democratic Party Messiah. You decide.

* On the anniversary of the March 1965 "Bloody Sunday" in Selma, Alabama, Obama speaking at a church said his parents got together "because of what happened in Selma." Well maybe the Obama family has mastered time travel as well. Especially since they were together before he was born, and Barry was born in 1961.

* Obama told Larry King on CNN... when asked about the anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton YouTube ad, a doctored version of a spot created for Apple computers....."We don't have the technical capacity to create something like that." Really so the same campaign staff that designed movie quality commercials, couldn't make a edited version of an already existing commercial. I mean know teenagers across the country do it everyday, but apparently that is to challenging for "The Obama" campaign staff. You might find it interesting that eventually it was discovered that it was a Obama campaign person that came forward as the creator. And surprise surprise Barry had no idea, but dismissed him immediately.

* This one is priceless, and keep in mind Barry was tired. May, 2007 Barry drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 people had died. The actual death toll was 11. He said "In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. 10,000 people died an entire town was destroyed." Barry said this to a group of 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio at a campaign stop. Realizing his lie, I mean gaffe, Barry said afterwards (mind you not while any of the 500 people were around) "There are going to be times when I get tired, There are going to be times when I get weary. There are going to be times when I make mistakes." Barry spokesman Bill Burton said that Sen. Barry meant to say "at least 11" instead of 10,000.

Well maybe "The Obama" just has problems with numbers. Like this one from just a month ago.

* In Oregon, Barry is talking about the long journey of the campaign trail. "It's wonderful to be back in Oregon, and over the last 15 months we have covered every corner of the United States. I've been in I think 57 states with 1 left to go. Alaska and Hawaii I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it." Are you kidding me?? I know this is tough, and I understand that you are under a lot of scrutiny. But if this was George W. Bush we would not hear the end of it. However, you might find this funny, there are 57 Islamic states. Hmmm.

* "The Obama" also has a 6th sense, and displayed it this past Memorial Day. In a speech on Memorial Day he said "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes, and I see many of them in the audience here today. Our sense of patriotism is particularly strong." This guy is seeing dead people, and people are worried that McCain might develop Alzheimer's.

It must be nice for a presidential candidate to be able to say whatever he wants, and be shielded by the media. I am glad to know that they give the same support to all the candidates and the current President. Err wait!?!

This Week in Liberal Hypocrisy!

Just a few points of hypocrisy to throw your way. I hope that you see the unbelievable nerve of these people. You'll see what I mean!

* Liberals want to make it so any 13 year old should be allowed to have an abortion, and do so without her parents consent. Yet, the same liberals want you to be 22 to possess a weapon. Therefore, you're old enough to make the incredibly permanent and powerful decision to submit your body to an abortion? But, your not old enough to possess a weapon to protect your life or your property. Republicans agree with no weapons for children, and especially if some of those weapons call themselves Doctors.

* Since we are on the subject of abortion, and so called Dr's. Liberal Doctors are now stating that the death penalty via a hypodermic needle is "cruel and unusual punishment". They say that assisting in these legal actions would be against their Hippocratic Oath. So a Dr can suck the brain out of a baby's head that is sticking out of a birth canal, but they have a problem inserting a needle into the arm of a proven murder?

* How about a liberal that opposes "big" oil, and defense contractors by the name of Michael Moore. Michael Moore calls oil companies and defense contractors "war profiteers", but Moore owns shares in Halliburton, Honeywell, and Boeing. (all of which he supposedly opposes.) Michael Moore also is a big supporter of labor unions, but when Moore makes a propaganda film he does his post production work in Canada. Michael Moore does this so that he doesn't have to pay union wages like in the United States. This way he can keep production costs down. I'm sure his movies are 100% fact!

Remember as the good liberals say: "Do as I say, Not as I do."

Prime Time Propaganda!

It has come and gone. One of the few days out of the year where the major networks speak highly, or in a positive way about our troops. They do their required reflection of fallen heroes on Memorial day, and then on Tuesday it's business as usual. Talk of new books about the "lies that propagated" the war, new studies that show that our troops are ill prepared, surveys that say that our troops come mostly from poverty stricken homes and have no choice, but to join the military. I mean it couldn't possibly be that these brave men and women share the same call to duty as the soldiers that have gone before them. It couldn't be that some of our nations best, and brightest would want to give selflessly of themselves to defend their countrymen, or that they believe in the mission at hand.

I know these networks place a lot of questions out there about the war. I understand that many people watch morning, noon, and prime time news shows. It is even understandable that after hearing the same barrage of rhetoric and questions, that some of these questions would start to stick in peoples minds. However, I am also a strong proponent of researching "news" that you hear, and checking out "facts". So here are a few answers to some of the most repeated questions and/or comments about our troops, and the war.

Q. There were no Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Iraq! So was Saddam Hussein/Iraq really a threat to the United States? Or did the Bush Administration force this war?

A. Yes. Saddam Hussein's regime was a major threat to American interests and the region as a whole. The United States was not alone in believing Saddam Hussein had WMD, which is why the U.N. Security Council had adopted 12+ resolutions since 1990 to force Hussein to disarm his weapons program. The U.N. even authorized U.N. member states "to use all necessary means" to compel Iraq to comply. So to say that Pres. Bush lied to the U.S. about WMD in Iraq is a lie itself. However it is also fair to note that before the U.S. led intervention (and during the first few weeks of the War) convoys of hundreds of trucks crossed over the Iraqi/Syrian border. Also there is been evidence of WMD materials found scattered across the desert in Iraq. But for argument sake lets say there were no WMD in Iraq. We did find: prohibited missiles (a violation of the U.N. Security Council), Hussein supported a wide variety of terrorist groups against U.S. allies (one of which was Israel), and they routinely fired on U.S. warplanes that were enforcing no-fly zones. Their was also proof that Saddam Hussein used illegal chemical weapons against Iran, and his own men, women, and children. This evidence was left behind in mass graves of 300,000+ victims.

Q. Saddam Hussein isn't in charge anymore! Therefore U.S. soldiers shouldn't lose their lives waging another country's civil war.

A. There is no evidence of full fledge civil war. However our enemy, al-Qaeda, is seeking to provoke a civil war by bombing Shiite mosques and shrines. If we were to stand back, allow al-Qaeda terrorist to succeed at creating a civil war, they would turn Iraq into a base of operations for attacking the U.S. and our allies. Much like they did with Afghanistan when Clinton decided that we had no stake in the Afghan civil war in the 90's. The fact is a Talibanized al-Qaeda controlled Iraq would be like Afghanistan on steroids. All fueled by Iraqi oil revenues. The U.S. simply cannot permit this.

Q. The death toll is rising higher everyday! With that fact the U.S. ability to win in Iraq gets lower, and lower.

A. No, the war in Iraq CAN be won. Winning in Iraq would be helping Iraqis build a stable government that is an ally in the war on terrorism (unlike Saddam's Iraq which was an enemy to that war.) This would be a major victory. It is true that Iraq will be a violent place for many years. But some of the forces that make it violent are radical Islamist, and Saddam's Baathist party supporters. (Both of which are sworn enemies of the U.S.) If we turn our backs now, and pull the military out 2 things would happen. 1. A young but growing Iraqi democracy would be destroyed. 2. The threat to the U.S. and our allies from terrorist groups will only grow.

More Global Warming? (Brrrrrrr)

Bundle up it's time for more "Global Warming" news. Thats right the world is getting hotter, and here is more proof that its gonna keep getting hotter. There are 5 states right now as I write with active winter weather advisories from now through the holiday weekend. Thats right Idaho, Montana, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. In fact people in Vermont are going to be experiencing snow this weekend, not just an advisory, but actual warm snowy goodness. (Makes you scratch your head, and wonder how it is people can believe this stuff.)

Real quickly the Hurricane forecast for 2008 has been released, and because of "Global Warming" its gonna be very active. The prediction is 12-16 named storms, and 2-5 major storms (that means category 3 or higher). As you might have guessed the rumblings are it will be above average because of "Global Warming." Thats right because you drive a gas powered vehicle, use a/c, and use non curly q light bulbs the world is going to end. It will burn up one snow flake at a time, and maybe this year we will see something really cool like a Hurricane that smothers Miami in Snow. Just a thought.

E85 Money Saver?

I know what your thinking, "Not another E85 alternate fuel blog." I do realize I may have been on a bit of a kick with this particular subject as of late. However, with that said this will be the last on the subject for at least a while.

With gas prices going up north of $3.75 (in NC) more people are looking at alternate fuels, and E85 Ethanol (corn fuel). But what they are finding is that while cheaper, the fuel economy is worse than the "slightly less" mileage promised by the government, EPA, and corn fuel companies. For example the new Ford Explorer is rated at 16 city/ 18 hwy with gas, but only 11 city/13 hwy with E85. The Chevy Tahoe is rated at 15/21 with gas, and only 11/15 mpg with E85.

The bottom line: Car and Driver magazine says E85 needs to be 30% cheaper than gas to start to save you money.

I mean that only seems fair that if its gonna be 30% less efficient than gas than it should be 30% cheaper. In closing I just want to recap that not only is E85 not more "green" as portrayed, but its not even as efficient as they claim.

Yet again I wish that we would start taking advantage of the enormous amounts of fossil fuels that are scattered all around our great country. Start building more drilling facilities and more refineries. Do away with these ridiculous regulations, and requirements on the gas companies. Just in those ways alone we will be able to bring down the gas prices.

Sunday Thought On Alternate Fuel

Is anyone else as tired as I am of hearing politicians talk about rescuing the people from "our energy crisis"? They refer to the state of the economy, and try to make us think if we just had things like alternate fuels we would have more money. Well what if we had put the 51.2 Billion dollars that were recently invested in corn fuel back into the economy. I mean since that 51.2 Billion was tax dollars anyway. However 51.2 Billion is a lot of money, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 177.6 Billion in farm subsidies to grow corn for alternate fuels. Now the only reason for that is to partially (thats right partially) replace the corn that we use for food products, and feed for livestock. So if these politicians want to really help us then how about they stop taking our hard earned tax money and blowing it on "corn fuel."

Bio-Fuel Good for the Enviroment, and our Futures?

Every day we here more about energy independence, corn fuel, and carbon emissions. We are told that if we had more "jetson" cars, and more corn fuel we would be well on our way to ridding the world of those evil oil companies. I know that I for one am tired of living with the guilt that comes with driving a gas guzzling world killer. So I am proud to say that I am here to further the movement of Corn cars, and that alone will make the world better for our children. (Cant forget the kids, that would be cruel.)

Lets look at the full "life cycle" of bio-fuel consumption from land clearing (gasp) to automotive consumption. The moderate emission savings are completely uprooted (no pun intended) by way larger emissions from: deforestation, burning, peat drainage, cultivation, and soil carbon losses. Here's an example, for every ton of palm oil produced the result is 33 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. (that's 10 times more than good ol petroleum.) Also clearing of tropical forest (egad!) for sugar cane fuel emits 50% more greenhouse gases than the production and use of the same amount of GASOLINE. Lets not forget that growing the crops for these agro-fuels require large applications of petroleum based fertilizers, and since agro-fuel has double in production that means those fertilizers have double in # of applications. You see that might not sound so bad except the fertilizer gives off nitrous oxide, and that's a greenhouse gas 300 times more potent than the evil "carbon dioxide".

Alright maybe I was a bit hasty on furthering the cause of the corn car, but I mean I was concerned about the children. However I think now we should erase those pesky child labor laws, and start drilling and refining more old fashion Texas T. I mean not enough kids know the value of a honest days work anymore.

Check back soon when I share with you what E-85 gas does to the normal combustion engine. Meanwhile call your congressman and senator. Tell them you want to drill for your oil in your country, build new refineries, do away with ridiculous gas taxes, and start to bring down gas prices the right way. They work for you, and it's time that they remember that. We can limit their power, but only if we stand up to voice our opinions. We are a republic!

Liberal Tax Myths!

The following is a list of the 10 largest liberal myths on taxes. I will first give you the myth, and then follow it up with fact. So drum roll please........

Myth 10: Bush tax cuts were tilted toward the "Rich".

Fact 10: The rich are shouldering more of the nations tax burden than ever. (39% of taxes are paid by the top 1% of income earners, and 86% of all taxes are paid by the top 25% of income earners.) Thats up 2-4% from 2000 when Bush took office.

Myth 9: Bush tax cuts have not helped the economy.

Fact 9: Economy responded by creating more jobs (lowest unemployment since 1970.) Very simple more jobs means more money.

Myth 8: Tax cuts help the economy by “putting money in people’s pockets.”

Fact 8: Pro-growth tax cuts support incentives for productive behavior.

Myth 7: Reversing the upper-income tax cuts would raise substantial revenues.

Fact 7: The low-income tax cuts reduced revenues the most.

Myth 6: Raising tax rates is the best way to raise revenue.

Fact 6: Tax revenues correlate with economic growth, not tax rates.

Myth 5: The Bush tax cuts are to blame for the projected long-term budget deficits.

Fact 5: Projections show that entitlement costs will dwarf the projected large revenue increases.

Myth 4: Capital gains tax cuts do not pay for themselves.

Fact 4: Capital gains tax revenues doubled following the 2003 tax cut.

Myth 3: Supply-side economics assumes that all tax cuts immediately pay for themselves.

Fact 3: It assumes replenishment of some but not necessarily all lost revenues.

Myth 2: The Bush tax cuts substantially reduced 2006 revenues and expanded the budget deficit.

Fact 2: Nearly all of the 2006 budget deficit resulted from additional spending above the baseline, where revenues were projected to be without the tax cuts.

Myth 1: Tax revenues remain low.

Fact 1: Tax revenues are above the historical average, even after the tax cuts.
